Captain Balram Singh Mehta of India's 45 Cavalry regiment fights on the eastern front during the Indo-Pakistani war of 1971. The film follows his coming-of-age as he overcomes his fears and proves his worth in the war to liberate Bangladesh. Along the way, he learns the value of love, family, and the true meaning of bravery and patriotism through his emotional connections to his fellow soldiers and his childhood friend, Anitha.
