Nikhil and Karishma's relationship is on the rocks when Karishma's father Devesh Solanki arrives in India from the United States with an engagement promise. Devesh dislikes Nikhil due to his lazy ways and because he believes Nikhil is only interested in Karishma's wealth. Nikhil has one week to prove himself worthy of Karishma or the engagement is off. During this time, Nikhil develops a close relationship with Karishma's sister, Meeta, as they work together to try and convince Devesh of Nikhil's sincere intentions.
