During communal riots, Tara shelters a wayward Sakina from a crazed mob, and a bond that blossoms into love is created. When Sakina learns that her father, whom she believed died in the riots, is alive and the mayor of Lahore, Pakistan, she leaves for Lahore to see him. However, upon reaching Lahore, Sakina discovers that her father wants her to forget her family and start a new life in Pakistan. This prompts Tara to take extraordinary steps to reunite with his love, crossing borders and risking it all. Will their love withstand the dilution of religious hatred?
