A 19th-century period piece set in Bengal, The Ghost of a Mother is a haunting tale. It is about a helpless mother who, due to an unjust trial, is sentenced to death for murdering her own child. When a lower-caste orphan girl undergoes a perilous ritual and is crowned the new Zamindar, the disgraced spirit is awakened. She seeks vengeance on the Zamindar and her daughter but is confronted by a courageous chauffeur who is determined to protect them.
