Amidst social unrest in ancient China, the Imperial Court's plan to expand the royal army by collecting gold from local governments is derailed when the gold is robbed during transport. The elite royal guards are sent on a mission to retrieve the stolen gold, but they soon discover that they are not the only ones pursuing the treasure.
