During World War II, in Northern Finland, a young Lapland native named Pietari uncovers a stash of gold while hunting in the mountains. He imagines a new life with his mother in the south but his naive plans take a drastic turn when SS officers arrive in town, forcing him to protect his gold, his mother, and his life from the invading soldiers.
